the at meowed again, heading towards the door
“no, you an’t go out,” drao hukled “you’ll just ome bak all wet and be grumpy with me”
harry’s heart lenhed at how easily drao ughed he had never seen him this at ease drao pushed his hair bak from his fae again and sat at the table, whih had remnants of some sort of tarte sat on it drao piked at it disiedly, piking up a book and looking through it he didn’t seem to be reading it really so muh as holding it he set it down in his p for long peds of time, during whih he would sit and stare at the windows that looked into the ke, hewing at his thumb
harry was so busy wathing the man in front of him that he almost fot that man wasn’t supposed to be breathing, let alone sitting and daydreaming fifteen feet away from him this is what mgonagall had been hiding drao had been here all along, loked in the dungeons for most of it, if his omplen was anything to go by
the at, now loser to the door, mewled again, startling both drao and harry out of their thoughts
“potter, you absolute menae,” drao sighed
harry tensed at his name drao knew he was there, somehow, had sensed hi—
“i already told you you an’t go out tonight, harriet,” drao said, walking over to the entrane
the at hissed
“ok, you an go out, but if you get soaked, you’re sleeping in the hall tonight, potter,” drao warned “i don’t need my room smelling like a wet at”
drao ted the door and let out the at, returning to the table
…drao named his at potter
drao was alive, he had a at named potter, and, harry realized now that reality had set in, he kept a book of all the artiles he had ever been menned in and he missed harry
but he said that he missed harry, too, whih implied he knew that harry missed him whih meant he probably heard harry that night of ourse, he had heard him that night, he had been sobbing outside of his room the entire lower half of the astle probably knew
drao was stirring again, standing up and refastening his loak harry rawled arefully out from under the desk, trying to make as little noise as possible he wasn’t letting drao out of his sight he followed drao to the door, slipping out just seonds before it began to lose drao looked up and down the hall, pulled his hood up, and muttered a disillu spell
harry ould still hear the slight suff of malfoy’s shoes against the stone, following it as best he ould they exited the astle the rain had let up some, but there was still a light drizzle within moments, a white wolf eared on the grass twenty paes in front of harry he strethed his legs before beginning a light trot towards the woods, seemingly unaware of harry
harry pulled off the invisibility cloak, bunhing it haphazardly and stuffing it into his poket
“wait!” he alled before he ould stop himself
the wolf’s gait faltered as it turned to look bak at harry
“i need to talk to you,” he yelled hasing after it
it stopped, looking at harry with bewilderment
harry ran until he aught up with the wolf
“i an’t believe it,” he oughed, out of breath, before falling to his knees
run, you it, drao told himself, but harry’s voie held him fastened to where he stood
“i an’t believe it,” harry oughed, falling to his knees “i an’t believe it”
drao stood still, unsure of what harry was referring to
“you’re a fuking animagus,” harry ughed, still out of breath “i knew you were bloody fuking brilliant, but this is really impressive the only thing more impressive is that you’re—” harry seemed to stop himself
he studied drao momentarily, his eyes loking with his own, making drao feel a bit naked
“you’re really him, aren’t you?”
drao didn’t respond he didn’t know who harry thought he was, but he wasn’t about blow his over
harry swallowed
“drao,” he finally said, his voie raking “drao, you’re alive”
drao’s vin began fading at the edges, sinking into omplete darkness the st thing he remembered was the grass rapidly roahing his fae
he was beautiful god, he was beautiful
harry felt like a reep, sitting at the edge of his bed and staring at him like this, but he ouldn’t tear his eyes away from the other boy’s fae he tried to write it off by making the exuse that he never thought he would see this fae, in the flesh, again and that was why he ouldn’t look away, but that exuse only sted about three minutes no, he ouldn’t look away beause he was looking at the singur most beautiful person he had ever seen and that person had somehow managed to go and beome even more beautiful
and he was alive harry knew he should be angry that he was lied to, that he was made to feel like the world was rumbling beh him for no reason at all, but he ouldn’t quite manage it he was just so relieved eah rise and fall of drao’s hest made the pain that had taken residene in his own dissipate a little
he reahed out and brushed drao’s hair away from his fae, not letting his hand linger on the other boy’s fae like it so desperately wanted to
drao began to stir
